New healthcare programmes by Hamdard
Recently, Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (HIMSR) has set up its own medical college offering six health-related courses. The institute will carry out its operations under the aegis of Jamia Hamdard University.
Later on, HIMSR will also launch a dental college and will have an institute for hotel and healthcare management as well. The institute will offer undergraduate, postgraduate and post-doctoral courses in medical and allied subjects.
New courses at HIMSR:
- BSc Medical Imaging Technology
- BSc Medical Record and Health Information Management
- BSc Optometry
- BSc Cardiology Laboratory Techniques
- BSc Operation Theatre Techniques
- BSC Dialysis Techniques
This year’s student intake will be 100 (42 general, 43 reserved and 15 management quota). For this year, students’ research focus will be oncology (cancer), diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. In the present scenario, courses like imaging technology, operation theatre technique and cardiology lab techniques are gaining importance.
The prospective courses will commence from academic session 2012-13.
