AIPMT 2014: Checklist for the exam

The All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test 2014 (AIPMT 2014), conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), is scheduled to be conducted on May 4, 2014. AIPMT, a three-hour long test, will have 180 objective type questions and the exam paper would be divided on the basis of subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

AIPMT 2014 will commence at 10 am in the morning but students are advised to reach their examination centre latest by 9:20 am, as invigilators will be checking their admit cards from 9:30-9:45 am. Any candidate who reaches the examination centre after 10 am would not be allowed to sit for the exam.

We know that you must be under tremendous pressure to fare well in the entrance exam and to ensure that you do not miss out any important document for the examination; Shiksha.com has listed down some documents/things you definitely need to carry to your examination centre.

Admit card: Ensure that you carry your admit card for the exam because if you forget to carry this for the entrance exam, you will not be allowed to sit for the exam. You also need to ensure that your hall ticket is not tampered with and contains all the necessary information such as your name, photograph, examination centre address etc.

Card board/clip board: It is advisable to carry a clip board or a writing board for the examination. Although most of the tables and chairs at the examination hall are in perfect shape but what is the harm in having a back up with you for that one odd instance when you may have to sit at a broken or dirty table.

Photograph: It is mandatory for all students to carry one post card size photograph with them when they appear for AIPMT 2014 at their allotted examination centre.

Stationery: Carry extra blue/black ball point pens with you when you appear for the entrance exam because you will not be provided with any stationery at the examination centre. So, it is better to carry your personal pens with you to the exam centre.

Water Bottle: Although most test centres serve water to candidates during examination, it is advisable to carry your own bottle of water for the exam. However, make sure that nothing is written on your bottle.

Wrist watch: Consider wearing a watch to keep track of the time you are taking to solve the question paper. However, a word of caution, ensure that your watch does not have a calculator in it or you could be disqualified from sitting for the exam.

Also, ensure that you do not write anything anywhere in the machine graded answer key as this may lead to disqualification of your answer paper. Any calculation that you want to do needs to be done on the test booklet itself.

Since, we are sure you must be completely focused on preparing well for AIPMT 2014, we advise that you consider keeping all things/documents at one place, a night before the exam.

Apart from these things/documents refrain from carrying any other item with you for the exam. Candidates will not be permitted to carry any electronic devices such as mobile phones, pagers, calculators, cameras, music players etc. Also, do not carry any food inside the examination centre as this is strictly prohibited.

With this, we wish all the candidates appearing for AIPMT 2014 – All the Best!
