M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical MedicineA Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Medicine will be offered at Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) in association with Hibernia College, Dublin, Ireland. The programme will start from October 2012, reported The Times of India.

The M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Medicine is said to be a first in India to offer systematic understanding of drug development process from initial discovery through research and development to the regulatory approval process and commercialization. Moreover, the programme has been accredited by the Higher Education Technical Awards Council (level 9) and International Federation of Associations of Pharmaceutical Physicians.

Eighty per cent of the course will be delivered online while the remaining 20 will be conducted through contact mode by professors from Dublin College. Preparing students to take up senior positions in the pharmaceutical industry, this programme, will equip them to design and manage major projects, do critical data analysis and lead multi-functional teams.

Those who have completed B.Pharm, MBBS and BDS with an aggregate of 55 marks are eligible for admission to the course. Working professionals from pharmaceutical companies can also apply. (Read more)
