Around 50 students of a government middle school in Bihar have fallen ill after consuming the midday meal, an official aid. The incident took place at Jagdishpur Saino middle school. After eating, the students complained about stomach aches and vomiting. When information reached the parents, they immediately rushed to the school and took their children to the primary health centre in Jagdishpur, as reported by Zeenews. While speaking on the same, Jagdishpur BDO Raghunandan Anand said that the victims were admitted to the primary health centre.
"We have initiated an inquiry into the matter and asked the authority to submit a report before the department. The food samples were collected and sent to the lab for the testing. Action will be taken after the test report, statements of students and investigation report of the department official against the school principal and cook," he said.
Earlier, similar incident was reported in a village in Pakaridayal subdivision of Bihar’s East Champaran district, where at least 37 children and a cook were hospitalised after allegedly consuming midday meal at a government school.
While speaking on the same,Pakaridayal’s sub divisional magistrate (SDM) Kumar Ravindra had said "as many as 37 students belonging to Rajkiya Madhya Vidyalay at Sishani village complained of uneasiness, stomach ache hours after they ate their miday meal in their village school."
