Applications for pre-matric scholarships for Class 1 to 10 students begin!
Candidates can apply for the scholarship online through National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The last date to submit the application is November 15, 2021.
The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs and Kerala State General Education Department has commenced the application process to various pre-matric scholarships. Candidates can apply for the scholarship online through National Scholarship Portal (NSP). The last date to submit the application is November 15, 2021.
Students from Class 1 to 10 from Christian, Sikh, Muslim, Jaina, Buddhist and Parsi communities can apply for the Minority pre-matric scholarship. Students studying in government, government-aided and recognised private schools are also eligible. Students whose family income is a maximum of 1 lakh INR per annum can apply for the scholarship.
In order to apply for the scholarship, students must have scored a minimum of 50 per cent in previous year’s annual examination. However, this is not necessary for this year for the renewal applications. A maximum of two kids from a family can apply.
Pre-matric scholarship for differently-abled students (Students with Disabilities)
Students studying in Classes 9 and 10 with at least 40 per cent disability can apply. The family annual income of these students must not be more than 2.5 lakh INR per annum.
National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS)
Students studying in Classes 9 and 11 with at least 55 per cent and class 10 students with at least 60 per cent can apply for this scholarship. Students belonging to SC/ST category will get a five per cent relaxation in the marks. The family income of these students must note be more than 1.5 lakh INR per annum.
The student should be studying as a regular student in government, government-aided and local body schools. Reservations will be given as per State Government norms.
One student can apply for only one scholarship. The process will become easier by providing a bank account number in the name of the beneficiary student, and its IFSC code.
