Check eligibility criteria for Indian Applicants, International Candidates and Sponsored Candidates

CEPT University has opened spring 2026 admissions for its Master’s in Architecture (Housing Design) or M.Arch (Housing Design) programme offered by the Faculty of Architecture at the University. This announcement allows a rare mid-cycle entry route for candidates who missed the usual academic intake window but wish to enter a nationally recognised, architecture-led housing programme without waiting another year.

The two-year programme combines design studios with context-driven coursework on housing regulations, affordability, typologies, and real-world case studies. It is the only programme in the country that allows students to fully curate their learning paths, thereby choosing both studios and courses based on their interests and professional goals.

Through vertical studios on themes like flexibility, parametricism, and affordability, and elective credits via CEPT’s Winter and Summer Schools, students gain broad exposure across housing design concerns. Collaborations with global institutions such as the National University of Singapore and TU Delft, and with eminent practitioners, including Ar. Biju Kuriakose, Ar. Chitra Vishwanath, and Ar. Yatin Pandya provides students with international perspectives and real-world professional insights, enriching their academic experience and preparing them for dynamic roles in housing design.

India’s housing market, which constitutes a substantial share of the building industry, is expanding faster than cities can cope. Policy, technology and climate stress are reshaping how Indian cities must build, and architects trained in housing design are now central to this transition. The M.Arch (Housing Design) program at CEPT University is built exactly for this context, preparing architects to design innovative, climate-sensitive, socially grounded housing for rapidly urbanising India.

Professor Viswanath Kashikar, Programme Chair, M.Arch (Housing Design), Faculty of Architecture, CEPT University, said, “There is a dearth of practitioners, researchers, and academicians in the field of housing design. The program provides a rare opportunity for students to chart their own futures and make meaningful contributions in the field of housing design in India.”
