AP Inter Exams 2021: Will hold state govt responsible for even one fatality, decide in 2 days, says SC

SC has said that the state would be held responsible even a single fatality is reported if the exams are conducted.

The Supreme Court of India while hearing the matter on AP Inter examinations 2021 on June 22 has said that it will hold the state government responsible for even a single fatality if the AP Inter examinations 2021 are conducted. The state government has been firm on its stand to conduct the AP Class 12 examinations.

During the hearing of the matter, Justice Khanwilkar said, "You cannot keep the things hanging on fire. If you are so confident than all other states then let us have your reasons too." Sending a stern message on the safety of students, Justice Khanwilkar added, "If there is one fatality we will hold the state of AP responsible for it."

Advocate Mahfooz Nazki representing AP Government said that the state government plans to hold the exam in July 2021 with all necessary precautions and protocols for COVID-19. In response to this, Justice Khanwilkar asked the counsel to file an affidavit providing all the necessary details about how AP Intermediate Exam 2021 are being planned.

The court said, β€œTake a decision and file an affidavit. Don't keep it uncertain.” The apex court has asked the state government to file an affidavit in the next two days on the conduct of exams.

The state govt also presented that it does not have the option of internal assessment since SSC Result is based on grades. It further said that it would conduct the examination in July if the conditions are conducive.
