Assam government and state education board – SEBA and AHSEC share different opinions on holding on Assam 10th, 12th board exams 2021. Should they go as scheduled or be postponed? Check below
Contrasting views of Assam government and state education boards on conduct of Assam HSLC, HS exams 2021 has left students in a fix. While the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) and Assam higher secondary Education Council (AHSEC) want the exams to be held as per the time tables, the state government wants them to be postponed amid surge in COVID19 cases.
Assam Board Exams 2021 for HSLC and HS are scheduled to be held between May 11 and June 14, 2021. CBSE, CISCE and many other state boards have decided to cancel/postpone the Class 10th, 12th board exams 2021 in view of rising pandemic.
"If the Covid situation does not improve by May 2, even the board exams will have to be cancelled. We will observe the situation till May 2 but a decision on exams will be taken by the new government if the Covid situation is found to be critical," Himanta said, appealing to students to continue their studies.
“The government is closely monitoring the situation in Guwahati, as the Kamrup (Metropolitan) district was showing highest daily positive cases that was heading towards the 1,000 mark as on April 19.”
While appealing to students to continue with their studies, AHSEC Secretary Ramesh Chandra Chutia said, "We should continue preparations on a positive note. Unless the government takes a new decision on the exam rescheduling, the students should keep studying.”
As of now, there is no major update on Assam Board Exam 2021. But looking at the prevailing situation, it is expected that SEBA and AHSEC will soon decide whether to cancel or postpone Assam Board Exam 2021.
