Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said that the decision on Assam HSLC, HS exams 2021 will be taken by May 25.

State Education Minister of Assam Ranoj Pegu said that the decision on the new schedule of Assam HSLC, HS will be taken by May 25. He told that students might get the option of appearing in only three subjects.

The education department is ready to conduct the board exams at a 15 days’ notice from the state health department. “If the state health authorities allow holding exams with guidelines, we will be able to conduct the exam at a 15 days’ notice. We urge the parents and students for their cooperation and to stay prepared for the examination which will be held as soon as the situation improves,” Pegu said.

He told that a proposal has been submitted for the conduct of three papers instead of the traditional six papers.

“The students usually need to appear in six papers in the examinations. As the Covid situation will not improve completely, the proposal is made to appear in the exam for three subjects. This is being considered to reduce the period of the exam schedule. If approved, the entire exam cycle can be completed within 10-12 days,” the education minister said.

Pegu also announced the decision of digitizing all textbooks for schools. He said that the distribution of books for AHSEC class 12 will begin within ten days.
