CBSE 12th Improvement Result 2026: Supreme Court directed Central Board of Secondary Education to take immediate and effective steps to declare CBSE Class 12 Improvement results at the earliest. SC also asked board to present a plan by Friday to ensure that CBSE class 12 improvement result 2026 are announced without further delay.
Petition Filed by Student Studying Abroad
A bench comprising Justices Manmohan and Vijay Bishnoi was hearing a petition filed by a student from Saudi Arabia. The petitioner asked for directions for declaration of CBSE 12th Improvement Examination results, which are yet to be announced. During hearing, Supreme Court issued a notice to CBSE and asked board to come up with a solution by Friday to safeguard interests of petitioner and other students facing a similar situation.
Supreme Court Refuses More Time to CBSE
The counsel appearing for CBSE requested additional time to respond to petition. However, Supreme Court declined request and scheduled next hearing for June 12, 2026. According to reports, bench stressed urgency of matter and told board to make every possible effort to resolve issue before Friday.
Delay Affecting Students' Higher Education Plans
The petitioner's counsel informed the court that delay in declaration of CBSE 12th improvement results has affected student's academic future. They have already applied for admission to a university abroad, and absence of improvement exam result could prevent them from completing admission process within specified timeline.
Assessment Scheme Introduced for Affected Students
Under assessment scheme, marks for cancelled examinations were to be calculated based on students' performance in quarterly, half-yearly, and pre-board examinations. Petitioner argued that assessment scheme should be implemented in his case or that he should be allowed to appear for special examinations as provided under Clause 18 of the scheme.
