The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) postponed the CGBSE 10th examinations 2021 due to a spike in COVID19 cases in the state. The secondary exams were scheduled to be conducted from April 15 to May 1.
The State Chief Minister tweeted, "Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Raipur has postponed the CGBSE 10th board exams starting from April 15, 2021, keeping in mind the rise in COVID cases in the state and lockdown in many districts."
The Board did not announce any new dates for the Class 10th exams or mention any change in schedule for CG Board Class 12 exams that are to be conducted from May 3 to 24. Students must go through the CGBSE 12th exam pattern and solve the CG Board 12th previous years’ question papers to get familiar with the marking scheme, duration and the types of questions asked every year.
Earlier, the Chhattisgarh government announced that students of all the classes, except 10th and 12th, will be promoted to a higher grade without examinations.
"All schools will be shut till further orders and all students, except those of classes 10th and 12th, will be given a general promotion to the next class without holding examinations," read the order.
"The board exams of class 10th and 12th will be held offline as per the schedule declared earlier by Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) while complying with all coronavirus preventive guidelines issued by the Centre and state government from time to time," it added.
