Goa Board HSSC exams 2021 have been scrapped due to COVID-19.
The Goa Board HSSC examinations have been cancelled for the current academic year in view of COVID-19. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced the cancellation of Goa Board Class 12 exams via Twitter on June 2. It was earlier in the morning on June 2 that it was reported that the state board will be taking a final decision on the Goa Board Class 12 exams 2021 by evening. Notably, the decision comes a day after CBSE Class 12 exams 2021 were cancelled keeping in mind the safety of students. The Minister said that the Goa Board 12th Result 2021 will be based on objective criteria.
“After extensive consultations, it has been decided that the Class 12 exams shall be cancelled, as the health & safety of our students is of utmost priority. This will also help put an end to the anxiety amongst the students, parents and teachers,” Sawant tweeted regarding the cancellation of Goa Board 12th exams. “The results will be declared as per well-defined objective criteria,” he added.
Earlier the CM said, "We have three suggestions before us right now. One is to cancel the exams, the second is to declare results on internal assessment of marks (secured during the academic year) or allow those who are keen on taking the exam to appear for it, and the third is to declare both the results (internal assessment and final examination) together."
Meanwhile, many board examinations including CBSE, ISC, HBSE, RBSE, UK, MPBSE Class 12 have been cancelled in view of COVID-19.
