“Due to COVID situation, CISCE will take a decision regarding ICSE and ISC exams,” read the official statement.
The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is likely to announce today, April 15, its decision on holding the ICSE, ISC board exams. In an official statement, the CISCE said, “Due to COVID situation, CISCE will take a decision regarding ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12)” exams.
On April 14, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had announced the cancellation of Class 10th board exams and postponed the class 12 board exams due to the surge in the cases of COVID19.
Nearly 3 lakh students register to appear for CISCE exams including both ICSE and ISC exams every year. Last year too, the pandemic had disrupted the exams.
The decision taken by CBSE has impacted not just CISCE but also other state board exams. UP, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab have also postponed and cancelled the Class 12 and Class 10 exams.
ICSE 10th exams 2021 are scheduled between May 4 and June 7 while ISC exams have begun from April 8. The last ISC exam is scheduled for June 18.
Students preparing for the examinations must get familiar with the exam pattern, and try and solve as many previous years’ question papers as possible. These will make them familiar with the marking scheme, and the types of questions asked in the exams.
