Karnataka 2nd PUC, SSLC Results 2020: Minister denies reports about confusion on valuation

Karnataka education minister denies all the reports claiming confusion over the valuation of answer sheets of Karnataka SSLC Board Exams 2020 and Karnataka 2nd PUC Board Exams 2020. 

Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar on July 1 reacted after confusion regarding the valuation of Second Pre-University (Karnataka 2^nd PUC board Exams 2020) and the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (Karnataka SSLC Board Exams 2020) exam papers started surfacing over the internet.

When asked about the confusion over the valuation of answer sheets, the minister denied all the reports and said, “Creating confusion has become a habit. There was confusion before the exam, during the exam and now confusion about the valuation of the exam papers.”

The minister even went to inspect a few centres where the Karnataka SSLC Board Exams 2020 or the 10th standard exams were underway. The minister reminded people not to speak about the abilities of the students with contempt.

He said, “Our students have toiled hard and are enthusiastically appearing for the examination. They are eligible for the marks they will score. So we should not speak about our children with disrespect.”

The Education Minister said he had spoken to many leaders including former chief ministers Siddaramaiah and H D Kumaraswamy on conducting the examinations. Mr Kumar added, “Kumaraswamy had insisted on postponing the examination. I personally spoke to him and apprised him about the steps taken by us. I told him that we will work with more sincerity to ensure the safety of the children.”

According to the Karnataka SSLC 2020 Time Table, the Karnataka 10^th exam was scheduled to take place from March 27 but was postponed due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

While CBSE, CISCE and a few other states decided to give marks based on the students’ performance in the previous examinations such as quarterly and half-yearly exams, or gave general promotion to the students, Karnataka went ahead to hold the Karnataka SSLC Board Exam 2020 and Karnataka 2^nd PUC Exams 2020.

Earlier, talking about the declaration of the Class 10^th and 12^th results, the minister said, Karnataka SSLC Results 2020 is likely to be released by August first week and second pre-university, Karnataka 2nd PUC Results 2020 is expected to be declared by last week of July.
