Karnataka SSLC Passing crtiteria

If a student secure an aggregate of 33% marks in both internal assessment and external examination, and secure at least 206 marks out of a total of 625 marks, and secure at least 30% marks in the respective subject, such student will be declared passed. The internal assessment will be conducted for 125 marks, i.e. first language for 25 marks and remaining 5 subjects for 20 marks. The external examination will be conducted for 500 marks, i.e. first language for 100 marks and remaining 5 subjects for 80 marks.

In NSQF subjects, the external examination is conducted for a maximum of 60 marks and is counted for 30 marks. The internal assessment is conducted for 20 marks and the practical examination is conducted for 50 marks. To pass, it is mandatory for a student to obtain at least 10 marks (33%) out of 30 marks in the external examination and at least 17 marks (33%) out of 50 marks in the practical examination. Attendance at the external examination, internal assessment and practical examination is mandatory. To clear the overall external examination, internal assessment and practical examination, a minimum of 30 marks in the said subjects and 33% marks in all subjects are required to pass.

To pass the SSLC examination, school students and school repeaters must score 206 marks out of 625 marks, which is 33% of the total marks, including both external examination and internal assessment in all subjects. Similarly, private and private repeat candidates must score at least 206 marks out of 625 marks in the external examination, including all subjects.

Karnataka SSLC Result 2026 for Verification, Revaluation/Rechecking 

Those students not satisfied with the SSLC Result can apply for revaluation or rechecking. The rechecking involves only the calculation of marks while in revaluation, the complete answer sheet is rechecked. For rechecking or revaluation, students have to follow the instructions as released by official notification after the declaration of result. Also, students have to pay some fee for rechecking or revaluation.

Karnataka SSLC Result 2026: Compartment exams

Students who are not able to pass the two subjects need to appear for the compartment examination. These students can apply for Karnataka SSLC supplementary exam to clear the examinations. The Compartment examinations are usually held in the month of June/July every year.  Applications for SSLC supplementary exams are accepted through schools. Students can visit the official website of KSEAB karresults.nic.in. and submit an online application to obtain scanned copies or photocopies of the Karnataka SSLC answer sheets.

A total of 8,42,173 students took the SSLC Exam 1. This number includes regular freshers, private freshers, and repeaters from both categories. Out of all the students who appeared, 5,24,984 passed, bringing the overall pass percentage to 62.34%.Students from rural and urban regions performed almost equally in the 2025 SSLC exams.

• Urban Students: 3,35,446 appeared and 2,24,900 passed, making the pass rate 67.05%.

• Rural Students: 4,55,444 took the exam and 2,98,175 cleared it, with a pass percentage of 65.47%.

Girls have once again scored better than boys in the SSLC 2025 results. A total of 4,00,579 girls appeared for the exam, and 2,96,438 passed, giving a pass rate of 74%. On the other hand, 3,90,311 boys took the exam, with 2,26,637 passing — a pass percentage of 58.07%.

A total of 22 students scored a perfect 625 out of 625 marks. Among them, two students are from government schools.

Karnataka SSLC Exam 3 result 2025: Stats

6,15,593 students cleared SSLC Exam 1 and 2 combined out of 8,61,800 registered students, achieving a pass percentage of 71.43 per cent. The overall pass percentage of Karnataka board SSLC 2 exam 2025 was 30.39 per cent, with 84,597 students passing out of 2,78,355. In all three rounds of SSLC 2025, Exam-1, Exam-2, and Exam-3 for school going category saw 7,99,390 students appearing. Among them, 5,26,333 students passed in Exam-1, 85,452 cleared in Exam-2, and 38,679 passed in Exam-3. Overall pass percentage is 79.71 per cent. 1,82,586 regular candidates appeared for Exam 3, where 38,679 cleared the exam, achieving a pass percentage of 21.18 per cent.
