NTSE to be revived in 2023; check details here

The NTSE was not held in the year 2022, marking the first such omission in its 60-year history. NCERT plans to conduct NTSE 2023 and may accommodate students who missed the opportunity last year to earn the scholarship.

The National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT) will conduct the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) this year. Students who missed the opportunity last year might be accommodated, informed a government official. The NTSE 2023 date will be announced soon on the official website of NCERT.

The NTSE was not held in 2022, marking the first such omission in its 60-year history. This shattered the dreams of lakhs of Class 10 students who wanted to earn a scholarship.

According to the official, “The education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has given instructions that NTSE should be held at the earliest. We are examining how the Class 10 students of last year can be accommodated.”

NTSE was last held in October 2021, for the academic year 2020-21.

About NTSE

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a scholarship exam conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for identifying talented students who want to pursue higher education in the Science and Social Studies streams. The exam is conducted for students studying in class 10th. NTSE is conducted at two stages. The stage 1 exam is conducted at the state level by all states and UTs, while NTSE stage 2 is conducted by NCERT at the national level only for those students who qualify the stage 1 exam. The aim of the NTSE scheme is to award a scholarship to talented students, who wish to pursue higher education in Science and Social Studies stream, to help them continue their education.
