CM Naveen Patnaik has ordered the suspension of board exams for classes 10 and 12 in view of COVID.
The Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has ordered the suspension of board examinations for Odisha Class 10 and Odisha CHSE Class 12 in view of the COVID surge across the country. With India reeling under the second wave of COVID which is proving to be deadlier than the first one, many boards including CBSE, UP Board, RBSE, HBSE, HPBOSE, MPBSE, including others have postponed/cancelled their upcoming board examinations.
A day after the announcement on CBSE board exams 2021, the State Government chaired a meeting to take a crucial decision on holding the Matric Board Examinations.
"CM Naveen Patnaik orders suspension of all 10th & 12th board exams in the state in view of COVID situation. All students of Class 9 & 11 in the academic year 2020-21 will be prompted to the 10th and 12th standards respectively. They do not have to take any tests for this," read the official tweet by Odisha CMO.
Earlier, the Odisha State board decided to shut down schools for Classes 9 and 11 due to the rise in COVID 19 cases in the state. The schools in Odisha have been allowed to hold online classes for the students for the academic session 2021-22 until further notice. All government, private and aided schools in Odisha will not be allowed to hold physical classes till April 30. The schools can conduct online classes.
