PSEB 12th Results are out. The state CM decided to award cash prizes to the students who scored above 98% in the Punjab Board Class 12 exams. 

PSEB 12th Result 2020 Toppers to get cash prize: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced cash prizes for students who have secured above 98% marks in the recently announced PSEB 12th Results 2020. Each student who scored above 98% marks in the PSEB 12th Board Exam would be awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000/- each. According to the reports, the Chief Minister made a formal announcement in this regard during his weekly interaction session '#AskCaptain' on social media. During the session, he also clarified that the exam for Open School Students, which is still pending, will be held later on. As of now, these students will be granted provisional admission to higher classes.

PSEB 12th Toppers to get Cash Prizes

Punjab Board announced the Class 12 PSEB Results on July 21, 2020. According to the announcement made by the Punjab CM, the Class 12th highest scorers will be rewarded with a cash prize. Under the scheme, students who secured above 98% marks in the recently announced Punjab 12th Result 2020 for Senior Secondary Board Exams, will be provided a cash prize of Rs 5100/- each. During the interactive session, CM Captain Amarinder Singh also lauded the hard work of government school teachers who coached the students well to secure an overall pass percentage of 94.32% this year. He also shared details about the initiatives launched by the state government to ensure the quality of education in government schools. The Punjab government also launched a recruitment drive for efficient teachers and ensured proper attendance while upgrading government schools to smart schools. The minister shared that all these initiatives turned out in better performance and results for government schools this year.

Open School Students to appear for exams later

While addressing the queries of the students, Punjab CM said that the state government is mulling to reschedule the examination for Open School students. The open school exams got delayed due to the COVID-19 lockdown. He cleared that the PSEB 12th Result 2020 for Senior Secondary students was announced on the basis of internal assessment but this could not be done for students of open schooling. Therefore, students who are registered under the open school and are due to appear for Board Exams, will be granted provisional admission to higher classes as of now; however, they will have to appear for the board exam later on, as and when the situation becomes conducive.
