The Rajasthan Board has cancelled the Class 10, 12 examinations 2021 amid second wave of COVID-19.
RBSE 10th, 12th exam update 2021: The Rajasthan Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra announced has announced that the RBSE Class 10 and RBSE Class 12 examinations have been cancelled in light of COVID-19 cases. Evaluation criteria for these students will be announced soon and will be notified to the students. While announcing the same via Twitter on June 2, he said, "In view of the apprehensions of the third wave of Covid-19, it has been decided to cancel the Class 10 and Class12 board examinations of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) in the meeting of Rajasthan Council of Ministers today in the interest of students. A decision regarding the marking scheme will be taken soon." The step from RBSE comes a day after the CBSE Class 12 exams were cancelled by Prime Miniter Narendra Modi after a high-level meeting.
Earlier, the state government had also promoted students of Classes 1 to 9 and 11 to the next higher classes without exams.
The RBSE had postponed the RBSE 10th, 12th exams 2021 in April and said that it would decide on the conduct of exams after reviewing the COVID-19 situation.
Earlier today, former CM Vasundhara Raje had called for the cancellation of RBSE board 10th, 12th exams. “Considering the feelings of the teachers and family members of the students, RBSE should take an appropriate decision on examinations at the earliest,” she said. “Irrespective of the health of the students during the stressful times of Covid, students cannot be forced to appear for the exam,” she further said.
