Amid ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the state is still unsure about conducting board exams 2021.
The Tripura state government said that it is not sure if board examinations under the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) would be conducted at all, in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It said that it would wait for the release of CBSE evaluation system to take a final call.
In a high-level meeting with educationists and health officials, state education minister Ratan Lal Nath said that the possibilities of holding the Class 10 and 12 board exams were discussed in threadbare details.
โUnless we get the health department nod, we will not be able to say if the board exams are going to be held at all this year. We shall wait for another seven days and watch the evaluation system adopted by CBSE to take our final call,โ Nath said.
The central government announced the cancellation of the Class 12 examinations on June 1. Following the announcement, CISCE, NIOS and other state boards like Haryana, Tamil Nadu etc also cancelled the Class 12 examinations.
Recently, the board announced that the students of TBSE 10th, 12th will study the reduced syllabus this year too due to the pandemic. Last year, the board had reduced the TBSE 12th, 10th syllabus by 30 per cent.
The final round of meeting for deciding on TBSE board exams would be conducted on June 21.
