With growing school interest and AIU recognition, Indian students now have a clearer pathway to globally benchmarked, future-ready education. Experts link WACE and NEP 2020; Indian schools show strong interest in international curriculum

The Western Australian Curriculum Conference, hosted by Western Australian Certification International (WACI) in association with the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) International, concluded successfully in Delhi, setting new benchmarks for international curriculum adoption in Indian schools.

George Thiveos, Minister Counsellor (Education & Research), Australian High Commission, underlined the role of cross-border collaboration: “This initiative strengthens choices for Indian students and families, allowing them to access global standards without leaving their home country.”

Jodie Matthews, Principal Consultant – International Education, Department of Education, Western Australia, highlighted the global recognition of the curriculum: “Partner schools in India will give students opportunities to become global citizens with future-ready skills.”

Ashok Ganguly, Former CBSE Chairman emphasised that the framework complements NEP 2020’s reforms: “By blending proven international curricula with India’s ethos, we can raise standards and build a world-class system.”

The Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) has already been granted equivalence by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), ensuring that Indian students can pursue higher education seamlessly in India or at top universities abroad. This dual recognition emerged as a key attraction for Indian school leaders exploring the program.

Pidet Sen, Founder of WACI and Managing Director of SpringBoard4Education, announced a scholarship initiative: “I will sponsor two Indian students every year to pursue undergraduate studies in Western Australia.”
