More than 1,100 MBBS and BDS seats have remained vacant in Gujarat after NEET UG Round 1.

Even after completion of first round of NEET UG counselling in Gujarat, as many as 1,169 MBBS and BDS seats remain vacant, opening fresh opportunities for medical aspirants in the upcoming admission rounds.

As per official seat allotment data, 6,827 seats were allotted in the first round of counselling. However, 1,169 candidates did not report, leaving a significant number of seats unfilled across government and private medical and dental colleges.

Breakup of Seats remained vacant:

MBBS: 654 seats

BDS: 153 seats

Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Courses (ACPUGMEC) has announced that the second round of Gujarat NEET UG counselling will begin on August 29, 2025. Students will be required to complete the choice filling and locking process afresh for the next round.

These vacancies have emerged as some students chose not to take admission, while others are expected to try for better options in the subsequent rounds.

Gujarat currently offers around 6,700 MBBS seats and over 1,200 BDS seats across government, private, and deemed medical colleges. With more than a thousand seats still available, aspirants who could not get admission in the first round now have another chance. A mop-up round will be held later if seats remain vacant even after Round 2.
