Digital Goa youth summit: The Government of Goa in collaboration with the Goa state higher education council and New school organised the digital Goa youth summit (DGYS). The summit was organized with an aim to provide 10,000 Goan students with industry-focused tech education for in-depth training and upskilling. Held at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, the summit witnessed discussions over the latest trends and opportunities in the tech industry by over 5,000 students.” The event also launched the digital Goa scholarship programme to help students pursing bachelor's or master's in any background to get jobs in tech companies.
12-week coding and mindset boot camp from March 31, 100% placement assistance
As a part of the scholarship programme, Newton school will be conducting a 12-week coding and mindset boot camp from March 31, 2023. The bootcamp will be developing aptitude and K-10 level maths and logic required to learn programming. The workshops are designed for students to take up live projects while becoming a part of the larger coding community globally. Once the boot camp is over, the students will be able to enroll in its flagship 6-month long full stack development course free of cost and learn from industry experts hailing from Google, Microsoft, and Amazon, among others, with added focus on one-on-one training and mentorship. Students will be also be getting 100% placement assistance with over 2,000 hiring partners.
While speaking the programme, Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant said, "I am happy that Goa State Higher Education Council, Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Goa, in collaboration with Newton School, is launching this scholarship program aimed at enabling Goan students to become tech experts. The scholarship will provide students with access to courses that will enhance their skills and make them industry-ready, thus enabling them to contribute to the growth and development of Goa's tech industry.”
