IIM Calcutta Admissions 2021 begin for 'Advance Programme in Data Sciences'

The deadline to apply for the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta APDS is November 10. The programme will begin around the end of November.

IIM Calcutta Admissions: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has commenced the admission application process for its Advanced Programme in Data Sciences (APDS). Candidates interested in IIM-C Admissions 2021 must note that the course aims to introduce students to the different tools and techniques used for handling, managing, analysing and interpreting data. It will make candidates understand data management and analysis. Students will also be introduced to various software such as Tableau, SPSS Modeler, Oracle SQL, Python, R, @Risk, Arena, Hadoop, etc. The deadline to apply for APDS is November 10. The programme will begin around the end of November.

Applicants must note that the programme has broader applications in terms of non-business applications where data handling and managing skills are required.

Students enrolled under IIM Calcutta’s APDS will be given an introduction to quantitative topics such as Statistics for Data Science, Econometrics, Stochastic Processes and Simulation in detail along with several case studies. Complete knowledge of Data Interpretation, Visualisation and Analysis, Database Management & Data Warehousing, Machine Learning, Big Data Storage and Analytics and Deep Learning.

The duration of the programme is one year that will include weekly online sessions of three hours each. In some weeks, sessions will be held twice. The total number of contact hours is 215. The programme will be conducted through interactive HD video-conference-based virtual classroom sessions at select VCNow Centres across India.

Six days of campus visits twice a year by the candidates would be required. Campus modules will be conducted subject to the evolving pandemic situation. The fees for the programme will be Rs 4,48,000 + GST. The amount includes application fees, campus fees and programme fees. The fees can be paid in four instalments.

IIM Calcutta APDS Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for the programme, the applicant must be a graduate or postgraduate in any discipline with at least 50% marks. Candidates will be selected through an assessment of background and motivation based on the submitted application form. A basic understanding of Mathematics and Statistics is a must.
