IIM Calcutta Summer Placements 2021: Students get 2 lakh INR stipend per month internship
Top recruiters came from the finance sector with 121 students, followed by consulting with 120 students.
IIM Calcutta Placements 2021: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta concluded its summer placements with 570 offers for 476 students. According to the official data released by IIM Calcutta, 142 companies participated in the virtual placement drive with students receiving an average monthly stipend upwards of 1.4 lakh INR, while the top 25% receiving stipends higher than 2 lakh INR per month. Students were allowed to hold multiple offers, which enabled companies to find a better Company-Student fit.
Top recruiters came from the finance sector with 121 students, followed by consulting with 120 students. 50% of total hires were made by these two sectors. IIM Calcutta Placement 2021 witnessed overwhelming response from recruiters such as Bank of America, Blackstone, Macquarie and top consulting firms like Accenture Strategy, Bain & Co., Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Co. Sales and marketing and general management accounted for 19% and 13% of total hires, respectively with companies such as Aditya Birla Group, Hindustan Unilever Limited, ITC, Mahindra, Mondelez, Nestle, Procter & Gamble, Star Disney, Tata Administrative Services being among the top recruiters.
10% of the total hire was made by E-Commerce and software services. Top recruiters for IIM Calcutta summer placements were Amazon, Flipkart, Google and Microsoft. However, new-age start-ups like Navi Technologies, OLX, Swiggy and more grabbed more attention from students. “It is very heartening to see that the hard work of one and all in the IIM Calcutta community once again led to 100% summer placements. Kudos to the placement team’s efforts and dedication.
