IIM- Visakhapatnam has commenced the admissions process for the programme. According to IIM-V Director, the institute is likely to commence the course in the fourth week of July.

IIM-V launches PG certificate programme in digital leadership in smart manufacturing

The Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam has launched a postgraduate certificate programme in digital leadership in smart manufacturing. The programme aims at making professionals Industry ready. IIM-V has collaborated with the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing, Kurnool (IIITDMK) and Wipro 3D to launch this programme. IIM-V PG certificate programme will be offered in a blended learning model.

IIM-V, IIITDMK and Wipro 3D sign MoU

IIM-V director Professor M Chandrasekhar told TOI about the institute’s collaboration and signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IIITDMK and Wipro 3D (a business division of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering) for this collaborative academic endeavour.

Talking about the digitalization of the manufacturing sector, Professor Chandrasekhar said that the digital transformation is being driven by three technological trends: connectivity, intelligence, and flexible automation.

The PG Certificate Programme introduced by the management institute is a 12-month programme. The course aims at training the professionals on how to take a head start and lead the transformation in the digitally enabled manufacturing setup - quality – both on the managerial and technological fronts. The programme is aimed at making the participants leverage the immense value of Industry 4.0 to enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality.

The director professor further talked about the collaborative endeavor contributes to the realisation of the objectives of the National Education Policy 202. “The NEP strongly encourages multidisciplinary programmes and courses, collaboratively among institutions,” said Prof Chandrasekhar. IIM- Visakhapatnam has commenced the admissions process for the programme. According to IIM-V Director, the institute is likely to commence the course in the fourth week of July.
