The exam was conducted in MCQ format and students were given an option to choose between basic maths and standard maths. Check students’ reactions below. 

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted Class 10 Maths Term 1 Exam today (December 4) from 11:30 am to 1 pm. The exam was conducted in multiple-choice questions (MCQ) format and students were given an option to choose between basic maths and standard maths. The subject code of standard paper was 041 and basic paper was 241. 

As per the students, the standard maths paper was lengthy and tricky, whereas the basic paper was well-balanced with moderate difficulty level. The case study portions were difficult and time-consuming. Many students found questions from coordinate geometry confusing. 

The paper contained three sections – Section A, B and C. Section A and B had 20 questions and students will had to attempt 16, while Section C contained 10 questions based on two case studies of which students had to attempt eight questions. All questions were of one mark each and there was no negative marking.

CBSE Class 10 term 1 board exams began on November 30 and will continue till December 11, whereas CBSE Class 12 board exams major papers commenced on December 1 and will continue till December 22.
