CBSE Girl Child Scholarship 2022: Know eligibility criteria, last date to apply & more

CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2022: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited online applications for the merit scholarships scheme 2022 for single girl child and renewal of the single girl child scholarship awarded last year. Single girl child studying in CBSE and affiliated schools and passed Class 10 with 60% marks in first five subjects can avail of CBSE Scholarships for the single girl child. The scheme was started by the CBSE in 2006.

Eligible students will be able to apply for the single girl child scholarship 2022 scheme and single girl child scholarship 2021 renewal at the CBSE official website, cbse.gov.in. The last date to apply for the scholarship and renewal is November 14, 2022.

About Single Girl Child Scholarship 2022

CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child is aimed to recognize the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and to provide encouragement to meritorious students, the CBSE said.

The CBSE scholarship awarded should be renewed for a period of one year after the successful completion of Class 11. Renewal will depend on promotion to the next class provided the scholar secures 50% or more marks in aggregate in the Class 11 exam.

As per the guidelines announced by the CBSE Board, “All single girl students, who have secured 60% or more marks in CBSE Class 10 exams are continuing their further school education of Class 11 and 12 in CBSE and affiliated schools and whose tuition fee is not more than Rs 1,500 per month during the academic year, will be considered for the purpose. In the next two years, the total enhancement in tuition fee in such school shall not be more than 10% of the tuition fee charged.”

Students can apply for CBSE single girl child scholarship 2022 following the steps given below:

• Go to the official website of CBSE, i.e. cbse.gov.in.
• On the homepage, scroll down and click on scholarships.
• Find the “Guidelines and Application Forms 2022/Apply Online”.
• Click on the ‘Single Girl Child Scholarship - 2022’ for fresh application.
• Or, click on “CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child of Class X for Renewal.
• Enter roll number and date of birth to fill the application.
• Check all the details before submitting the form.
• After submission, school will verify the student’s SGCS-X application.
