2,000 students register for JMI job cum internship fair, over 60 companies participate

The JMI in an official statement announcd that "2,000 students registered across different courses of whom approximately 120 students were selected. This was the first round of the job cum internship fair. UPC has shortlisted 500 students for further rounds of the fair. The fair consisted of stalls set for resume validation and mock interviews in which around 300 students participated."

2,000 students register for JMI job cum internship fair, over 60 companies participate

The University Placement Cell (UPC) of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) conducted the job cum internship fair called Job Utsav in hybrid mode on May 3 and May 4, 2023. The JMI Placement Cell collaborated with Nandi Foundation and Mahindra Pride Classroom to organise the event while IES was the associate sponsor.

The JMI in an official statement announced that "2,000 students registered across different courses of whom approximately 120 students were selected. This was the first round of the job cum internship fair. UPC has shortlisted 500 students for further rounds of the fair. The fair consisted of stalls set for resume validation and mock interviews in which around 300 students participated. There were stalls by students from the fine arts department and hotel management department as well. The offline interviews were conducted in classrooms of the faculty of engineering, department of management studies, and university placement cell."

The Varsity further announced that sixty companies participated in the fair in online and offline modes like tech mahindra, JTEKT, Acxiom consulting, vserv, maintec, the economic times, IB global.

During the inauguration ceremony, JMI vice chancellor Najma Akhtar was invited as chief guest to initiate the event at the Faculty of Engineering Auditorium and she said: “JMI strives for the holistic development of its students and expressed confidence in their abilities”.

According to the official notification, Sabah Khan who is deputy director of UPC said in her vote of thanks: “The contribution of the officials of the University placement cell, the support of the administration and dedication and hard work of the students of various courses in making the Job Utsav a success”
