Allahabad University colleges, central library to remain shut today
Allahabad University has announced that the varsity and its constituent colleges including the Central Library will remain closed today; i.e. October 7, 2022. The Allahabad University, however, did not give a reason why the decision to close was made.
The University in an official notification addressing all deans of faculty, heads of departments, and librarians read, “The University & its constituent colleges including the Central Library will remain closed on Friday 7th Oct 2022. This is issued with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor.”
Meanwhile, its been nearly a month now that students have been demonstrating against the Allahabad University fee hike. Demanding to roll back the fee hike, protesting students threatened to expand their agitation on Tuesday after their talks with the university administration failed.
On Wednesday, the students also burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on the occasion of Dussehra. In the past few weeks, protesting students have tried several ways of protest. They even tried to take "bhu-samadhi" (voluntarily burying themselves alive) earlier this week to push their demand. The protestors were, however, stopped by police personnel, who pulled them out of the ditches that were dug by students near the university's Union Hall.
However, the university has started the Allahabad University UG admission 2022 process and the PG counselling and document verification process. All those candidates who are interested with valid NTA CUET 2022 score 2022, having given the preference of the University of Allahabad can register for UG admission 2022 at aucuetug2022.cbtexam.in on or before October 15, 2022. Allahabad University PG Counselling 2022 registration process and document verification will end tomorrow, October 8, 2022.
