
Anna University and Madras University will soon be releasing the final semester exam results by next week.
Anna University and Madras University has decided to announce the final semester exam results by next week. The result will be made available to the students on the official website of the respective Universities. Many autonomous colleges across the country are planning to release the final year exam results before October 14, 2020.
The final year semester examinations were conducted by Anna University from September 22 to September 29, 2020. The examination was conducted in online mode this year owing to the coronavirus situation in the country. Out of the total number of students who had registered for the exams, 93 per cent of students successfully complete the test. As per the report, 17,000 students were absent and 10,000 students faced technical glitches during the exam.
Anna University's official said,βThe university sought permission from the government to conduct supplementary tests for students who faced tech glitches and absentees. The supplementary test is being planned for next week. The results would be announced immediately after the test.β
On the other hand, Madras University will soon be completing the evaluation process. Around 60,000 students had appeared for the exam that was conducted from September 21 to September 30, 2020. The varsity had asked the affiliated colleges to conduct the undergraduate and postgraduate exams through pen and paper mode. Students had to download the question paper from the site and upload the answer scripts once they had finished the exam.
City institutes like Loyola College, Madras Christian College, and Guru Nanak college have also completed evaluation and would declare results next week. Moreover, colleges will conclude postgraduate admissions soon. Paul Wilson, Principal of Madras Christian College said, βwe are giving provisional admission to students in postgraduate programs. Despite the delay in admissions, we have received a good response.β
Meanwhile, Anna University has also announced will give 30 per cent weightage for the overall result of the theory course. The remaining 50 per cent weightage will come from the CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) obtained up to the pre-final semester and another 20 per cent from the marks obtained in the Internal Assessments conducted in the final semesters.
