Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will open Cyber Library Study Center of Sayajirao Gaikwad Central Library from today; i.e. March 28. The library will be open for 21 hours; i.e. from 8 a.m to 5 a.m. This announcement has given a major relief to many students who can now avail the library facility without any hassle.

It must be noted that BHU students had earlier protested to keep the BHU cyber library open for 24 hours. It is after 6 years, that University has taken the decision to keep it open for 21 hours, leaving students happy and overjoyed. The decision to reopen the cyber library was taken by the new Vice-Chancellor of the varsity Professor Sudhir Kumar Jain.
Meanwhile, Shatrughan Singh Choudhary, a student from the geophysics department, BHU has secured the first rank in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022. Professor Rajeev Bhatla, head of the geophysics department informed that the students have performed well in GATE 2022.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur had declared the GATE 2022 result, along with GATE 2022 subject-wise cut-off and the list of toppers on March 16 on the official website at gate.iitkgp.ac.in.
GATE is a national-level entrance test conducted for getting admissions into the master's programme, or postgraduate engineering (ME, MTech) or analysis courses at top colleges in India such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc. GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technologies.
Shatrughan Singh Choudhary is a research assistant at the seismic imaging centre of the geophysics department at BHU. About 15 of the top 50 rank holders, and 4 in the top 10 ranks are also from the geophysics department of BHU.
