BHU RET POSTPONED! The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) postponed the research entrance test for Law and Human Rights and Duties Education (HRDE). According to the official schedule, the research entrance tests (RET) for Law and HRDE was supposed to be conducted on Sunday, i.e. April 18. However, the varsity decided to postpone the exam considering the ongoing pandemic situation. The new RET Law and RET HRDE dates will be announced by BHU later. An official statement released by the University on its website reads, “The RET Law and RET HRDE, scheduled on 18.04.2021, is postponed. New dates will be announced later on.”

Candidates interested in BHU Admissions for PhD disciplines, integrated MPhil-PhD and MPhil programmes appear for this entrance test. The University will conduct the research entrance test online across the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

BHU RET 2020-21

BHU RET 2020-21 will be divided into two parts- Part A and Part B. Part A of BHU research entrance exam will be of two hours duration. The RET will comprise of 100 multiple choice questions of three marks each. There will be questions on the assessment of logical and analytical capability.

“There shall be negative marking in entrance tests for all disciplines in RET/MPhil. Three marks shall be awarded for each correct answer while one mark shall be deducted for each incorrect answer. Unattempted questions will not be awarded any marks, “ the varsity said.

The concerned departments, schools or centres will conduct part B of BHU RET. Part B of the research entrance test will be held for a total of 100 marks for its two components. Students will have to write a one-page research proposal (25 marks) followed by a personal interview (25 marks).
