BHU to introduce PG course on Hindu Studies at its BAK
Candidates from any discipline, be it medical science, art, Information technology, technology, holding a graduation degree can apply for the course.
BHU Admissions 2021: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is all set to offer MA in Hindu Studies at its Bharat Adhyayan Kendra (BAK) from the next session. According to the reports, after a long deliberation in a meeting held at BAK on January 11, senior members of the Board of studies BHU passed the proposal to start the course. The development regarding the introduction of MA in Hindu Studies at BAK situated in the faculty of Arts, BHU was confirmed by the Coordinator, Bharat Adhyayan Kendra BHU, Professor Sadashiv Dwivedi.
Candidates interested in BHU Admissions 2021 must note that topics such as principles of tatva, religion and liberation, methods of praman, tradition of dialogue in ancient India and understanding western discourse, practices of Ramayan, Mahabharat and Purana along with the Sanskrit language will be taught in the course. The major focus of the course will be there on deep analysis of Tatva Meemansa (material analysis), Dharm Karm Meemansa (religion and karma), and Praman Meemansa (proof). The course aims at preparing scholars of ancient Indian wisdom, including philosophy and languages. Candidates from any discipline, be it medical science, art, Information technology, technology, holding a graduation degree can apply for the course.
Professor Dwivedi added, “Around one and a half months ago, Bharat Adhyayan Kendra designed the course and syllabus of the "Hindu Studies" course and sent a proposal to the board of studies for starting the MA in Hindu studies course to the board of Studies, BHU.”
The course’s outline was presented by Professor Sadashiv Dwivedi during the meeting chaired by dean, faculty of Arts, BHU Professor VB Singh and attended by Professor Ramnath Jha (JNU), Professor Nachiketa Tiwari, IIT, Kanpur, Professor Kamlesh Dutt Tripathi, Prof Brajkishore Swai (Orissa), Professor Vindhyeshwari Prasad Mishra (BHU), Professor Malini Awasthi (Professor emeritus at BAK, BHU), Professor Pradyuman Shah, Professor Vimalendra Kumar, Professor Sachchidanand Mishra, Professor Vijay Shankar Shukla, Director, IGNCA Center, Varanasi, Professor Rakesh Upadhyay, Professor Keshav Mishra, and Dr Arpita Chatterjee, members of the board of studies.
