DU Exams 2022: A group of students from Delhi University held a protest demanding that all the exams for the final year students should be held in online mode. The University had earlier announced that the DU exams 2022 will be conducted in offline mode for sixth-semester students. It must be noted that it is after two years, that the varsity will be holding the exams in offline mode.

Delhi University is likely to hold the semester exams in May and June. The students demanded that the final year exams should be conducted in an online open-book format. More than 1,000 students took part in the protest that was held outside the Arts Faculty inside the campus.

Students have alleged that they were detained by the Delhi police for protesting inside the campus. Students have also threatened to go on a hunger strike in case their demands are not heard. Meanwhile, the police said the students were arrested because they were causing inconvenience to commuters by obstructing the traffic.

"The protesters were creating chaos all over the place outside the arts faculty causing inconvenience and obstructing the traffic. The traffic movement was eventually diverted. The local police also informed the protesters many times that their assembly is unlawful and they shall disperse and not cause obstruction and maintain peace and tranquility of the area," said a senior police officer.

"700-800 protesters had gathered for the protest. Some of them have been taken to the police station. They will be released soon," he added.
