Galgotias University recently organised the Smart India Hackathon 2026 Pre-Qualifier at its campus. The event focused on driving deep tech innovations and showcasing student-led creativity. A total of 152 student teams from various regions participated in this offline round of the Smart India Hackathon. These talented teams were carefully selected from a total of 406 initial online teams.

The primary motive of the competition was to turn complex national challenges into practical technology solutions. Every participating group was required to make the solution into a functional prototype. This event has become a platform for student startups in India for future tech growth. Young tech talents got an opportunity to showcase their skills on a national stage.

Solving Critical ISRO DRDO Hackathon Problems

The competition required students to tackle tough ISRO DRDO hackathon problems. They also had to resolve issues framed by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). 

Students actively developed highly advanced AI and robotics prototypes. They also created system applications for cybersecurity, smart agriculture, and disaster management. Rather than presenting simple theoretical concepts, the teams built real hardware and software systems.

Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, the Chief Executive Officer of Galgotias University, shared his pride regarding the event. He stated that genuine deep tech emerges when students tackle hard problems and persist through multiple failures.
