GNDU Exams 2021: Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) announced that it will be conducting offline examinations for several semesters from February 15 onward. Meanwhile, for several courses, the university has already conducted offline examinations in the first phase. While, the issue of offline exams amid the ongoing pandemic situation had been opposed by a segment of students, who had earlier demanded that the university conduct the exams digitally.
Considering the situation, the varsity had then postponed the exams for affiliated colleges in wake of these protests. But with fresh guidelines by the government on the reopening of schools and colleges, the remaining phase of offline exams will now be conducted by GNDU.
Early, to put the month-long protest at rest, GNDU announced to conduct the exam via both online and offline mode. While announcing the same, Dr Manoj Kumar, Controller of Examinations, GNDU, said, “We have around 40 departments, which are conducting offline examinations since December 2020 successfully. In case, any student wishes to appear for an exam online, he/she can register on our website via a link, which we will share and the exam will be held through the National Testing Agency. GNDU will not be a part of the process.”
Mr Kumar further added that exams conducted through online mode by the NTA will be under the agency’s discretion. “It will be a proctored exam conducted under strict surveillance. There will be no relaxations in the syllabus and other aspects,” he said.
