IIM Jammu organises five-day faculty development programme

Under IIM Jammu FDP, experts will conduct a special session on Mental & Emotional Development to familiarize participants with the need for overall holistic development.

IIM Jammu Admissions 2021: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu commenced a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on teaching and research methods via online mode on August 2. The programme will go on until August 6. Talking about the programme, IIM Jammu spokesperson said, “Two hundred teachers and research scholars representing 189 different universities and institutions, from more than 25 different states and union territories of India, with an average work experience of ten years are participating in this FDP.”

Under the patronage of Professor BS Sahay, Director IIM Jammu, the Faculty Development Program is being managed by Dr Manoj Kumar and Dr Abhishek Srivastava. The programme will be conducted under the Online Faculty Development Programme scheme 2021-2022 of the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy. The major objective of ATAL Academy is to plan and help in imparting technical education in the country and in fostering research, innovation, and entrepreneurship through training in various emerging areas.

He said, “In the last year, even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, ATAL academy had organized approximately 1000 FDPs in online mode, and approximately one lakh faculty members and research scholars participated.” “The last year’s online FDPs (2020-21) organized by ATAL academy have also been recognized as a world record by the World Book of Records, London.”

Under this programme, students will get guidance from IIM experts. They will be taught how to conceptualize a research paper, prepare a research proposal and different research methods. The experts will also conduct a special session on Mental & Emotional Development to familiarize participants with the need for overall holistic development.
