IIT Gandhinagar begins 6th edition of Indian Knowledge Systems course

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar has started the 6th edition of the Indian Knowledge Systems course online on the theme ‘Precolonial India’s Treasure Home of Literatures’.
The course will be carried out in hybrid mode from January to April 2022. About 12 distinguished students and specialists from India and abroad will discover not only the developments of Indian literature but also a few of their lesser-known options and ramifications, the institute said. The primary lecture of the course was delivered on the topic “One Story, Two Tongues, and the Sacred Jain Web site of Shatrunjaya” on January 13.

The theme of the sixth edition is ‘Precolonial India’s Treasure House of Literatures’. It is centred on the fact that India is renowned the world over for its rich literature dating back to several millennia. The precolonial India not only had a great diversity of languages, from pan-Indian Sanskrit to hundreds of regional languages, but it also encompasses a plethora of themes, literary techniques and sociocultural functions. This “literaturescape” deeply impacted the Indian continent at all levels and was highly instrumental in the shaping Indian civilisation.
IIT Gandhinagar in its official assertion said, “The precolonial India not solely had an ideal variety of languages, from pan-Indian Sanskrit to tons of regional languages, but it surely additionally encompasses a plethora of themes, literary methods, and sociocultural capabilities.
