IIT Kharagpur Admissions 2021: Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur is offering a free online course on Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IoT). IIT Kharagpur free online course is available for students from computer science engineering, information technology, electronics and communication engineering, electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering, and industrial engineering background. Industry professionals with a basic knowledge of computers and the internet may apply for the course as well. Applicants interested in IIT Kharagpur admissions 2021 must note that the course will be available from July 26 to October 15, 2021, and the last date to enroll would be August 2, 2021.

An examination will be conducted on 23 October 2021, which participants can opt for by paying Rs 1000 to obtain a certificate from IIT Kharagpur and NPTEL. In order to enroll for the course, students may visit the following website, i.e. https://onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in/noc21_cs66/preview and click on the join button. Dr. Sudip Misra who is a professor in the department of computer science and engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur will be conducting the course. Before IIT Kharagpur, the professor was associated with Cornell University, Yale University, Nortel Networks and the Government of Ontario. The course can be completed in 12 weeks.

Interested candidates must note that the course will cover various aspects concerning the transformation of industrial processes through the integration of modern technologies such as sensors, communication, and computational processing through the following topics:

• Introduction: Sensing and actuation, communication-Part I, Part II, and networking.
• Industry 4.0: Globalization and emerging issues, the fourth revolution, LEAN production systems, smart and connected business perspective, smart factories.
• Industry 4.0: Cyber-physical systems and next-generation sensors, collaborative platform and product lifecycle management, augmented reality and virtual reality, artificial intelligence, big data and advanced analysis.
• Cybersecurity in industry 4.0, basics of industrial IoT: Industrial processes, industrial sensing and actuation, industrial internet systems.
• IIoT-Introduction, industrial IoT: Business model and reference architecture: IIoT-business models, IIoT reference architecture, and so on.
