IIT Madras to conduct technical festival for school students
Shaastra Juniors, an online three-day technical festival, will include lectures, events, shows, workshops and competitions.Β
The students of theΒ Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) MadrasΒ are conducting the second edition ofΒ ShaastraΒ Juniors, an online three-day technical festival for school students.Β
ShaastraΒ Juniors will include lectures, events, shows and workshops from September 24 to 26. Competitions will be held from October 1 to 3. Best school students will not only win prize money but they will also get special trophies apart from goodies. The teams will compete for theΒ ShaastraΒ Juniorsβ championship.Β
βShaastraΒ Juniors will be conducted online so that students can participate from the comfort of their homes. It is scheduled to happen duringΒ September 24-26 with a wide range of workshops and October1-3 with interesting competitions, enthralling shows and inspiring lectures,β a press release said.Β Β
Candidates can register for free and check out the schedule atΒ juniors.shaastra.org.Β Shaastra is the completely student-run annual technical festival in India which is conducted by IIT Madras.Β It is the first such technical festival in India to hold a 9001:2015 ISO certificate in implementing a quality management system.Β
Last year, the event wasΒ conducted jointly byΒ IIT Madras and the Tamil Nadu Science and Technology CentreΒ onΒ October 24 and 25.Β The eventΒ included contests such as Spark,Β ShaastraΒ Art Challenge, Junior Make-a-thon,Β ShaastraΒ junior chess tournament andΒ Ignite. The best performing schools and students were given awards, cash prizes worth Rs 60,000, certificates and medals.Β
