IRMA launches scholarships for rural MBA programme, check details here
Candidates must note that the IRMA scholarship amount will be up to 50 per cent of the PGDM(RM) tuition fee.
IRMA Scholarships: Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) announced new merit-based scholarships worth Rs 1.17 Crore for the new batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) or PGDM(RM). According to the reports, IRMA also reopened the application window for the PGDM(RM) programme until February 2, 2021. 10 out of the total of 20 IRMA scholarships are reserved for female candidates. Candidates must note that the scholarship amount will be up to 50 per cent of the PGDM(RM) tuition fee. Seleston for the scholarship for the first year will be based on the selection merit of IRMA admission process. However, the performance of the candidates in the first year would be considered for scholarships in the second year. Regarding the announced scholarships, IRMA says that “Cost of programmes for students are kept low through cross-subsidisation, with the aim of helping them serve the needs of the challenging rural sector more effectively”.
Types of scholarships by IRMA
Interested candidates can check the types of scholarship offered by IRMA in the list given below:
SC scholarships
As the name suggests, SC scholarship covers the entire cost of education of IRMA candidates belonging to the schedule caste category. For SC students, a total of four scholarships are allocated by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The scholarship covers tuition fees, non-refundable charges, lodging and boarding expenses, cost of books, stationery, and a personal computer.
ST scholarships
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India allocated ST scholarship as a full scholarship for five ST candidates. The amount of the scholarship covers tuition fees, boarding and lodging expenses, book grant, and a one-time grant for the purchase of a personal computer.
Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme
Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme is given with respect to the rules of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). PGDM(RM) is a two-year residential management programme. PGDM(RM) is recognised as equivalent to a Master’s degree in Rural Management (RM) by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). IRMA has a cooperative mess which is managed by the students themselves.
