Jaipuria Institute to conduct e-convocation for graduating students amid COVID-19 lockdown
Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Defense of the Republic of India will grace the Jaipuria Institute of Management’s e-convocation as the Chief Guest.
Jaipuria Institute of Management is all set to organize its first-ever E-Convocation on May 15, 2020. Amid closed campuses, suspended classes and postponed examinations due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus followed by extended lockdowns in order to contain the virus spread, the institute came up with a unique idea of organizing convocation for the graduating students. According to the statement released by the institute, more than nine hundred students from Noida, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Indore campuses shall be graduating during the e-convocation ceremony. Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Defense of the Republic of India will grace the Jaipuria Institute of Management’s e-convocation as the Chief Guest.
The institute further stated that the e-convocation ceremony will begin at 11 am and will continue for 1.5 hours. The Chairman, Vice Chairman, Directors, faculty members, and students will be attending the program through video conferencing. While the Chairman, Shri Sharad Jaipuria will give the welcome address, the Vice-Chairman, Mr. Shreevats Jaipuria will share the progress report. Post this, Shri Rajnath Singh will exchange a few words with the students, congratulating the graduates and motivating them for their future.
Talking about the idea of e-convocation, the institute’s Vice Chairman, Mr. Shreevats Jaipuria, stated, “Jaipuria Institute of Management has found a way to keep the spirits of its graduating students high by organizing this e-convocation. A first for Jaipuria Institute of Management, we are delighted to organize this event and honored to have Shri Rajnath Singh as our chief guest.”
To encourage the students and staff, the institute will also be handing out medals to meritorious students. Awards such as ‘best faculty awards to deserving faculty’ and ‘awards to distinguished alumni’ will also be given. Meanwhile, the Jaipuria Institute of Management placement drive 2020 witnessed the placements of 90% of students amid these tough times due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
