Kirori Mal College will be felicitating two of its alumni, Yogesh Kathuniya and Sharad Kumar for winning a silver and a bronze medal at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020. Sharad Kumar and Yogesh Kathuniya represented India at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Kathuniya won a Silver medal in the men’s discus throw and Kumar jumped to 1.83m to win the bronze for the country.

The KMC will also be launching the Centre for Disability Research and Training set up with an aim to encourage academic engagement with disability and promote disability studies as a legitimate field of academic inquiry.

The felicitation ceremony is scheduled to be conducted today; September 30, 2021, in the Academic Auditorium of the KMC.

During the felicitation ceremony, the KMC will also be handling the assistive devices, namely, digital recorders, tablets, refreshable braille display and laptops to 28 of its undergraduate students as part of its endeavor to create a level playing field and promoting inclusion in the campus, the KMC announced.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also met Para-High-Jumper Sharad Kumar, who won a bronze medal in the Tokyo Paralympics, at the Delhi Secretariat on September 18. The Chief Minister applauded Kumar for his stellar performance had made the entire nation proud.
