Design and innovation conference, DesignUp25 returns to Bengaluru from November 3–5, 2025 where young designers from across India envision what “currency” might look like in 2050.

Under this year’s theme, “The Design Currency,” participants explored new definitions of value, from trust and attention to care, energy, and memory. An international jury of design leaders, creative directors and innovation experts headed by Thomas Küber and Andreas Wegner of Futur2 Studio, Berlin evaluated entries.

Q:   Which NID is better - Ahmedabad or Bangalore?
A: 

NID Bangalore and NID Ahmedabad cannot really be compared because NID Bangalore is the extended campus of NID Ahmedabad and the institutes have a common admission process and a centralised placement cell.

NID Ahmedabad offers BDes and MDes, on the other hand NID Bangalore only offers an MDes.

Both the institutes offers different MDes specialisations, therefore the choice of institute will majorly depend on the specialisation selection of a candidate. For instance, if an aspirant wish to pursue MDes with specialisation in Digital Game Design, he/she will have to take admission at the Bangalore campus because the NID Ahmedabad does not offer the aforementioned specialisation.

A: 

NID is the best institution for product design and design innovation. NID Bangalore was established in 2006 as an initiative of the Department of industrial policy and Promotion. It offers M. Des in interaction design. After gaining adequate knowledge students become enable to design a wide range of products using technologies. They make careers in entrepreneurship where collaborative design-centric work takes place. The average package is 8 lakhs and the maximum goes to 30 lakhs.

NID Bangalore placements has maintained a strong placement record till date. The college provides students with numerous and exciting chances to achieve their goals. The average package at NID Bangalore was INR 15 LPA.

Their work and ideas have received national and worldwide recognition.The placement cell's goal is to provide a strategic platform to synergize and facilitate interaction between academia and industry, with the goal of providing NID Bangalore students with industry exposure and opportunities for project-based learning such as graduation projects, industrial training, and classroom projects. The cell also serves as a gathering place for prospective employers to locate qualified people for employment in their organisation. The placement event also fosters awareness of NID and its various modes of operation among industries, corporations, studios, non-governmental organisations, the government sector, and SMEs.

NID Bangalore looks for all of the prerequisites that students need to develop a successful career, in addition to providing outstanding design courses. The college has its own training and placement division that handles all NID placement issues.It maintains beneficial relationships with numerous design firms and companies and invites them to visit the campus for recruitment purposes. The T&P cell also organises pre-placement interviews with recruiters so that students can learn about the organisation and the recruiters.
