Delhi University shines in NIRF Rankings 2025 with 6th rank in Universities, leap to 12th in Research, and dominance in Colleges with Top 5 ranks. In the Overall category of NIRF India Rankings 2025, DU held steady at 15th, reaffirming its place as one of the country’s most respected universities.

University of Delhi shines in 10th edition of NIRF Rankings, with 6th rank in Universities category, leap to 12th in Research, and dominance in Colleges with its colleges grabbing top 5 Ranks.

University of Delhi (DU) has delivered one of its best performances in 10th edition of National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings, NIRF 2025, announced by Ministry of Education today. In 10th edition of NIRF Rankings, DU has strengthened its position as one of the leading higher education institutions in the country, with appearing in research category and continuing its dominance in colleges category.

DU at 6th in NIRF 2025 Universities Rankings

In the University category of NIRF, Delhi University has been ranked 6th this year, maintaining its place among India’s top universities. In the Research Institutions category of NIRF, DU has made significant progress, climbing from 14th in 2024 to 12th this year, behind only IITs and dedicated research institutions.

In the Overall category of NIRF India Rankings 2025, DU has retained its 15th rank, reaffirming its place as one of the country’s most respected universities.

Delhi University Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh called the NIRF Rankings a “historic moment” for DU. “NIRF 2025 is our best-ever performance and a source of immense pride. It reflects the dedication of our faculty, students, alumni, and staff. This recognition will inspire us to scale greater heights in teaching, research, and community service,” he said.

Beyond the top five of NIRF Rankings, DU continues its dominance with as many as six of the top ten and ten of the top twenty colleges in the country. This list includes names like Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (ARSD) (Rank 7) among others, this showcasing DU’s dominance in undergraduate education.
