The three-year BA (Hons) in Political Science will be available at University College for Women, Koti, Osmania University, while the BA (Hons) in Economics programme will be offered at Nizam College.

Osmania University has launched two new undergraduate courses, BA (Hons) Political Science and BA (Hons) Economics and admissions into these courses will be conducted from this academic year; 2021-22.

The three-year BA (Hons) in Political Science will be available at University College for Women, Koti, Osmania University, while the BA (Hons) in Economics programme will be offered at Nizam College. Similarly, the BA (Hons) in Political Science and BA (Hons) in Economics will be offered at Government City College and Government Degree College for Women, Begumpet.

The committees comprising internal and external subject experts in the respective disciplines have prepared the syllabus. The course content has been designed and structured in a manner that these programmes will open new opportunities for students aspiring to appear for various competitive exams especially Union Public Service Commission and Staff Selection Commission exams.

Both courses will have 60 seats each and admissions will be done through the Degree Online Services, Telangana (DOST). Interested candidates should submit an online application by logging into the DOST website https://dost.cgg.gov.in/ on or before November 20.

Meanwhile, a team consisting of all women administrators took charge at Osmania University’s UGC-Human Resource Development Centre. Prof. B. Vijaya of the Department of English assumed charge as the Director, Dr. B. Lavanya of the History Department took charge as Associate Director, and Dr. V. Samunnatha of Business Management as Assistant Director.

This is the first time in the history of a century old University that a major training centre was being headed by a woman faculty supported by two other women faculty members, the OU said in a press release.
