Osmania University (OU) is mulling to hold the 81st convocation in the second week of October. The Osmania university is likely to confer degrees to students who have completed their undergraduate or postgraduate courses between July 2018 and June 2020. The degrees will also be awarded to the PhD scholars who have completed their research by September 30, 2021. The expert panel is already in the process of identifying the chief guest for the event.
“The university will identify three names and submit it to the Telangana governor who is the chancellor to all the state universities for her approval. If she approves one of the three names then we would invite the dignitary. Otherwise, a list of fresh three names will be submitted for her approval,” said an official from the university.
It must be noted that it is likely that the convocation will be conducted in physical mode. However, owing to the rise in the COVID-19 cases the university might have to conduct a virtual convocation like all other Universities. The last date for submitting online applications for diploma, UG/PG and MPhil candidates is September 25 and that for the PhD candidates is September 30.
Meanwhile, Osmania University has started the registration process for CPGET 2021, the last date to apply is August 25. The Common Post Graduate Entrance Test (CPGET) is conducted by the university for admission to various PG, Post-graduate and integrated courses.
The University offers 27 undergraduate (UG), 68 postgraduate (PG), 24 PG Diploma, 2 PhD and 15 certificate programmes to students in streams such as Science, Humanities, Management, Teaching, Pharmacy, Engineering, Law, Commerce, Medicine & Healthcare and IT and Software.
