Osmania University's students staged a protest against the varsity's decision to extend the holidays until October 25. More than 100 students staged a protest demanding the rollback of the decision. They also demanded the start of the mess facility in the hostel.
The protesting students have claimed that they were not informed about the holiday extension by the varsity before and many of them come from rural areas. They said that they were hoping to prepare for Group I which is scheduled to be held on October 16. Extension of holidays at this point will hurt the preparation of Group I aspirants, students said.
On the other hand, the administration of the varsity said that "all the departments were informed about the extension of holidays. It has also been mentioned that as semester exams were completed recently, the holidays have been extended until October 25." The varsity will kickstart the class for both new and other batches on October 26.
Meanwhile, Osmania University has notified about the commencement of the admission process for its two-year MBA and MCA courses through the distance mode for the academic year 2022-23. The varsity located in Hyderabad stated that the admissions will be on the basis of the entrance test scheduled to be held on November 12. Candidates willing to apply for MBA, MCA programme may submit the application form online through the official website of the varsity. Candidates who qualified in the Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TS ICET) 2022 can take direct admission to MBA, MCA courses available at OU and they need not apply for the entrance test.
