Panjab University Exams 2021: In view of the ongoing pandemic situation, Panjab University has decided to conduct the semester examinations online, i.e. via virtual mode. According to the reports, the Panjab University exams will commence from June 28. A panel formed to conduct examinations has unanimously decided to hold the exams online and has submitted their report to PU Vice-Chancellor for final approval. While talking to the media, a panel member said, “Considering the pandemic, we have unanimously decided to conduct the examinations online. The suggestions have been submitted for the final approval of the Vice-Chancellor.”  Asked about reports on introducing software to stop students from cheating in the upcoming examinations, sources said: “Nothing has been finalised yet.”

Meanwhile, the varsity has decided to extend the closure of its teaching departments and libraries until June 9, in view of the pandemic situation. In an official notice, the office of the dean students welfare (DSW) stated that the decision had been taken in view of the orders of the Chandigarh administration. “To comply with the orders of the Chandigarh administration, teaching departments and libraries of PU will remain closed till June 9. It has already been advised that the hostel residents should go back to their families for their safety and health,” reads the notice issued.

The varsity also advised hostel residents not to come back until the PU authorities issue a notice in this regard. Last month, the varsity closed all physical services including libraries and labs on campus in view of the recent surge in the number of COVID-19 cases.
